Vantage Voice

Quarter 1 ◆ March 2024

From the President’s Desk

According to the calendar, spring ‘officially’ arrived on Mar 19. But until baseball diamonds across the country are being patrolled by pinstripes, ball caps, and bubble gum, is it really spring?

Well, that was answered just the other day. Now that the __________________ (insert your favorite team here… I assume the Phillies, Yankees, Mets, Pirates, Nationals, or Orioles for most of us), as far as I am concerned…spring is now in bloom.

In the spirit of spring, new beginnings, and the potential symbolized by this time of year, I’m happy to introduce the first edition of the Vantage Voice. We plan to connect with you quarterly via our Voice, and hopefully to present some useful hints about the services and tools we provide to you. You’ll realize more value from our services when you are taking full advantage of the tools, features, and functions. And we’re always happy to take a look at how you’re using MAXvoice to see if we can help you improve your business.
We don’t want to bore you, so we’ll also try to include some other topics that interest you. I think you’ll find the info useful. Thanks for your time. We’ll reach out again as summer hits us.

Signing off for today,

 Douglas A. Faganmm

Global Telecom Equipment Market slumps in 2023

Telecom equipment returns across 6 segments (Broadband Access, Microwave & Optical Transport, Mobile Core Network, Radio Access Network (RAN) & SP Router & Switch) declined by 5% year-over-year for 2023.

Why the decline?

  • Challenging Comparisons: Advanced 5G markets faced challenges due to higher 5G population coverage. Slow transition to 5G Standalone (5G SA) also impacted wireless-based investments.
  • PON Investments: Operators reduced home broadband capital expenditures after robust PON (Passive Optical Network) investments in prior years.

Regional Dynamics:

  • North America: Significant drops driven by weak activity in both RAN and Broadband Access.
  • Rest of the World: Positive growth in the APAC region offsetting weaker growth in Europe.
  • Supply Chain Disruptions: Covid-legacy hoarding and supply chain crises affected inventory levels.
  • Macroeconomic Issues: Fears for foreign exchange rates, high borrowing costs reduced growth.

Challenges for 2024:

The top 7 suppliers who hold 80% of the market will remain so. Market conditions will continue to be grim, but projected decline is to be less severe than 2023.

Women's History Month

March is National Women’s History Month (WHM), celebrating pioneering women in US history and valuing their contributions to society. Vantage kicked off their WHM celebrations on March 8th – International Women’s Day (IWD) We selected the colors Red (Power & Strength), Green (Hope), and Purple (Justice & Dignity), as reflected in our attire and food themes for the party. Vantage celebrated WHM with promotional offers for businesses owned by women all through March.
Vantage is thrilled to feature a valued client and a treasured partner, BLT Medical Billing, as a WHM special mention. BLT Medical Billing has been built on innovation, trust and professionalism of over 25 years of billing experience. Their client base primarily grew from word of mouth, which by itself reflects the high-quality service levels.

It is with much enthusiasm that I am recommending the services of Vantage Unified Communications. I have been with Vantage Unified since starting my business. I have always been completely satisfied with their products and customer service whenever I have any updates or things I want to change within my system, so much so that I have also recommended them to my clients as well.
